I've been doing it since december, only washing my hair with baking soda and apple cider vinegar every other day. I found an article today that said it was bad for your but then it recommended specific shampoo companies and explicitly said "they weren't being sponsored" so I don't know if I should trust it.

Not too sure since I'm doing no-poo and conditioner, but I'm pretty sure you should only be applying the baking soda every 2 or so weeks, before dropping it a few months after you start no-poo.
But on the subject of it being a meme, I'm not since I also started recently and there's pretty much a 50/50 split on whether it works for someone or not.
I suggest just keep on doing it, but if something's going wrong and changing your no-poo method around doesn't work, just drop it for a safe shampoo.

Depending on your starting point, you're likely to need the back cut more than anything else since it's likely to make it look like a mullet in the earlier stages.
Other than that there's not much else I can think of, unless your starting point was asymmetrical, in which case you'd do good to cut the longer side a bit to keep it more symmetrical in the early stages.

i wash my hair with sulfate free shampoo, and after washing hair I put some
argan oil on the ends.

I wash my hair on average every 2 days. Sometimes it feels dirty after one day so I just wash it

I assume so because it's a very old and common cut and seems easy to do, I know to show them pictures on my phone for reference.
