Help me, is Jcrew good quality? What are the good quality clothing stores without logos on their clothes such as banana republic or jcrew?
>>
>>11068874
Its intermediate. Its a hell of a lot better than Gap or H&M but its not something you'd find at Nordstrom either. For the most part, J.Crew and BR are totally fine though.
>>
Uniqlo>jcrew>h&m>Rick owens

Just make sure you sign up for the emails and hunt sales. Dollar per dollar I think it's some of the better basics you can get. Pretty good selection in tall sizes which is essential to me.
>>

no uniqlo in canada, it is hard to find recommendations from online in canada I tell ya.
>>
>>11068925
>uniqlo
>top of the list
its literally gook H&M

I like J. Crew's knits a lot but haven't been a fan of their shirts and pants. You can definitely get better denim for the price than what they stock.

They source their wool through Loro Piana. Obviously a less grade than a lot of what LP offers, but it's a nice quality control measure.

Brooks Brothers is a little better for quality and doesn't brand too much. If you live near a J. Press then you've gotta check that out.
>>
>>11068928
Fucking fatass
>>
I like their cords, they're pretty soft and really comfy and look good. Might want to taper the leg a little bit if that's your thing
>>
>>11068919
Wait what's so wrong with H&M? I'll pick up a cheap shirt from them for layering every once and a while but that's just because I'm a poor-ass student.

Yeah, everything is super shit quality in the materials, but that's what you should expect when you buy a $6 t-shirt or a $35 hoodie.
>>
>>11069288
Op was asking about quality, I responded appropriately. H&M is worse than J Crew.

I like a lot of J Crews stuff, but don't expect it to be like more niche clothing companies.

That said you can find some great stuff if you look.
>>
J. Crew assistant manager here, the quality of the retail stores is average, I would not buy most of the stuff if it wasn't for my employee discount though (stay away from the outlet locations, quality is shit tier, all the products are made specially for the factory stores)
>>
>>11068970
Brooks Brothers fits are shit though, my roommate works there and he has told me that they make fits shit on purpose so you pay up with the in house tailors and tend to drop $150-$200 in alterations fees
>>
>>11069716
Where did he hear that? My uncle is in the army and swears they put something in your food at basic to keep you from getting horny, but he doesn't know shit.
>>
>>11068874
J. Crew is the best of the mid-cheap brands

The fit is better for people that aren't 5'6" uniqlo wearing twinks

They have tons of sales, don't buy stuff full price
I lurk
reddit's frugal male fashion board
and sales go up all the time there
>>
>>11069785
frugalmalefashion is good for deals, don't fall for the >>>/reddit/ bogeyman

opinions on Club Monaco?
>>
>>11069772
that's actually smart
>>
>>11070148
>Club Monaco
Good, a step above JCrew honestly. Their prices and lack of constant sales means it'll cost more too.
>>
anyone have any of the wallace and barnes shit? its more expensive and i know they market it as higher quality 'workwear' inspired stuff, but is it worth the extra money for the wallace and barnes jackets or shirts, since its all jcrew anyway?
>>
>>11070151
Why would it be smart? Military guys find ways to jack off in all sorts of situations, so it's not like being horny gets in the way.

They don't get a ton of boners at basic because they're stressed out, tired and constantly getting out-alpha'd by their instructors and not getting their usually daily doses of porn and sexualized marketing images.. There's not a single shred of evidence that saltpeter is put in the food there, nor any reason why the military would bother, and yet dumb Joes keep on believing it because they don't know how their own body works.
>>
>>11070158
I just went two days ago to my mall in Scarborough, actually, to see if they have any sales. The place looked dead compared to all the traffic the H&M was getting.

Couldn't afford any shit because any shit because I'm a poorfag student so went to the H&M. Didn't cop anything because the fabric and fits felt like shit.
>>
can someone help i will suck penis, I live in downtown toronto and currently have no clothes, I've checked a few stores but it's hard to find good quality clothing with no logo, where should I go other than jcrew and banana republic? BR I tried their tshirt and sweater but both had bacon collar so I don't trust them anymore. Seems like quality is either 20 bucks a shirt or 200 with no middle ground here.

>>11070290

Probably the most accurate here.

J.Crew is definitely squarely in a mall tier and doesn't have AMAZING quality, but it's definitely better than what you'd get at many places lower than it in the same category (Gap, BR, etc.). Their knits are usually pretty great and their suiting used to use excellent quality fabrics (can't speak to their new stuff), but their shirts have always been a bit cheap feeling to me, and their pants range from okay to awful. Their fits tend to be nice and slim, though perhaps a bit too slim for my taste in the arms.

That said, on sale, J.Crew isn't a bad choice for the price/quality ratio.

I have a W&B flannel that I like a bunch, pretty thick and warm. Hard to really fuck up a quality flannel though.
