I'm a close friend of the OP and I will say I dont think the full text would last as a trend or even be a good idea but I think the idea is cool. I think a more minimalistic approach would be better such as the shirt just saying "1/1", "1/2" and so on. I also think it would be better if each shirt was hand done with fabric paint and not just screen printed on, adding to the uniqueness of each shirt.

The Twitter is our current way of continuing contact. I could also create a Kik account or something if that would be easier, perhaps more anonymous. I like the idea of a small run printing shop, especially with being able to design on PSD. I'm in the Dallas area so there is most likely one nearby I can sort things out with. Exclusivity only sells so far. Yeah it's limited, but when you buy one you're buying into a club that's spent 50 bucks on a 20 dollar shirt or whatever. Exclusivity without luxury won't work. You'd probably need to find a way to make it luxurious with interesting materials or design elements that still keep to the minimalistic appeal. Also if you're selling them cheap enough for these guys here to just buy one, you're going to need to sell a lot to achieve any significance, which is counter intuitive to your whole idea.

I have a cool idea for tshirts, you can pay as much as you want and the number will appear on the tshirt, this is to target the people who pay 700$ for Versace logo shirts because at this point it's like wearing a print out of a bank receipt so this captures the ostentatious aspect but also adds a twist. There could be other variables too like at a certain price point you can get cashmere or silk etc..

Maybe every number should be a new print/color.
Also if it gets famous the lower numbers will get rare and worth a lot of money

Another tip: every "gen" (couldn't find a better word sorry not English) has their own font, so 1/1 has one don't, 2/2 has another, etc.

All in all you should work on making your own font, then getting a good designer, start shilling brutally on tumblr, contact semi-famous tumblrwhores to shill for you, get a good name, make them all simple but stylish. Get some artwork as I said before to add some flavor and uniqueness, then make the shirts in different fabric etc. Unique is good but never go out of the t-shirt zone in my opinion or people won't recognize it, also stick to black/white except if you print something on.

In my opinion;
1/1 - black on white, simple but unique font, hire a designer to make it for you and rip off the measurements on the t-shirt of some famous fashion brand. Get a good quality fabric. The text should only say 1/1 - 2016.

Like the other anon who proposed uses different fabrics and artwork to add flavor, so my idea is
2/2 - white on black, or black on white (you can change the colors on each stack, but in my opinion you shouldn't use stark colors, only grey/beige/white/black etc). Add some artwork or some shit to the back.
3/3 - different color, font and everything, new back. Etc


But again we don't know how big this will be, in the beginning you might want to make the first stacks up to 20/20 in the safezone using minimalistic design.

Either way OP I don't know if you really care about fashion or not but this can work but only if you tap into the tryhard fashion kid/collector demographic. Normies are never going to catch on to this, which is why I suggest keeping the price and quality high.
