the price different between the two jackets is astronomical and in terms of functionality and quality the difference between carhartt and dickies is negligible. The Carhartt looks good but it just looks like a 50.00 jacket to me, nothing more.

It's solid as fuck. In terms of build quality it's way above Alpha Industries MA-1.

Word of warning though, the Asthon bomber is full-on winter coat, you will melt wearing it inside or during above-zero temps.

Carhartt WIP Ashton is full-on functional winter jacket. It's completely wind proof and has a thick lining. Basically it's "real" pilot jacket. I wear mine in sub zero temps during winter only.

I haven't seen the Dickies jacket, but it's propably a lighter spring/autumn jacket.
