Trying to decide whether I should cop a pair of Red Wing Heritage 1907 Mocs (pic related) for $210 or a pair of Thorogood American Heritage Mocs for $113.
Anyone have experiences with the Thorogoods? How do they size in relation to the RWs?
Here's the Thorogoods.
Think the Redwings look more refined, but not double the price nice.

>"work boot"
>more refined is good

I actually work in manufacturing, though I'd probably mostly use my cheap and ugly old boots for work and these for nights out.
Cop the Eastland Loomis from Nordstrom Rack for like $70
Treat it with saddle soap to give it a more refined look ($10 for saddle soap on Amazon, like $3 for a rag)

OP here. I actually got a pair of the Loomis and the Redwings that I got at Nordstron Rack this afternoon. The quality of the leather on the Loomis is much lower, but I do like the look. Might cop the Thorogoods as well and see whether the extra $30 is worth it as they are supposed to have full grain like the Redwings.

How much height do those boots give? 5'8 manlet reporting in
Get the Red Wings, they look so much better.
My thorogoods after a year

Give up, no boot can save you from yourself

They do look a bit more refined, but I found the Thorogoods for $103. Are the RWs worth more than 2x as much?

Jesus, thoros are the most shitty and ugly workboots ever. Idk why anybody will wear this.

They look almost exactly like the Red Wings. Only real difference is in the contrasting stitching.

Don't get pre-distressed boots
With the thorogoods, after a couple of months and some mink oil, the contrast stitching goes darker and the boots too and they look just like redwings apart from the made in USA tag, which you can cut off anyways
