has anyone received a jacket from falcon garments, the toj successor? if so, how is it?
>>
What happened to TOJ? Also TOJ nightmare thread?
>>
>>10713993
toj went under because the owner couldn't keep up with demand. he decided to ghost the people who ordered from him and open a restaurant in south korea instead or something. apparently if you barge in there, that's the only way to get a hold of him
>>
>>10713977
poop extremely overpriced korean jacket
>>
>>10714131
and they have restarted the scam using same factories and biz model
>>
>>10713977
just purchase one from the same factories and pay $300 instead of $900. same designs, someone posted link the other day
>>
lmao i can't believe drew got away with stealing half a million dollars, literally keked styleforum and they aren't doing a single thing about it

don't get falcon either, same garbage quality, same terrible cuts, same future

>mfw they try to convince people that the veins all over their jacket are some kind of testament to quality

absolute korean trash
>>
>>10714194
bump for this
>>
>>10714194
Got a link?
>>
>>10714131
Na, he just stopped sending out jackets under the guise of holidays and other shit.

Falcon apparently sends out jackets in a couple weeks time, versus the months TOJ always was. Drew was probably just intentionally slow from the beginning to build some sort of hype (which worked).
>>
>>10713977

dont trust gooks with your american dollars
>>
>>10713977
Darn that looks good...
Might just put an order in for myself as a early Xmas present ;)
>>
OP here. how come sufu was shitting themselves over toj not that long ago, then? even the non-mfa plebs on [le]ddit agreed that toj was the best bang for your buck

fuck this shit. i guess i'm gonna rent my asshole out to any old slag and shell out the five grand for a saint laurent one
>>
>>10715198
anon, no
don't fall for the YSL shills

TOJ was basically like a Silk Road scam.

Where when the seller first opens for business, generates a lot of hype and keeps up with orders, but eventually they will start accepting large amounts of orders but NOT fulfilling them.

Since the average wait time to get a jacket was something ridiculous like over several months, people didn't finally catch on to what was happening until it was too late and then TOJ cashed out and disappeared.

Also the long wait time is essential because if the transaction is over a certain period of time, it's much harder for people to claim the money back.

All in all I actually applaud Drew for keking his way to close to a million dollars all because some faggots on the internet were circlejerking over Alex Turner style leather jackets.

In fact the same people who got scammed in the end are the ones who helped Drew steal even more money because a lot of them were in denial about getting fucked over and continued to assure people it was worth it to wait months for a jacket that never came.

lmao
>>
>>10714194
care to share the link friend?
>>
Where to buy non scam leather jacket?
>>
>>10713977
these jackets always looked so shitty to me

like the only people i ever see in them are these little internet dweebs who look like they lack self confidence IRL so they run out and buy a "cool jacket" to replace whats lacking in their life
>>
>>10715243
dont find the link, something like this http://vivastudio.co.kr/product/detail.html?product_no=1587&cate_no=34&display_group=1

just google a bit and youll find there is a small industry making these kind of jackets in korea, "falcon" poop is charging a really high price to those retarded americans on styleforum
>>
>>10715349
kolean hil, kan confilm
>>
>>10715226
well, i really like slp, which is why i wanted this cheaper alternative which apparently is dogshit. what leather jacket would you recommend that's good bang for my buck? i'm willing to shell out like a grand for one
>>
>Getting scammed by an unknown dude who sent out ill-fitting jacket

HILARIOUS AS FUCK
>>
>>10715455
Go for BLK DNM. Even LETO wears it.
>>
>>10715308
Despite being supposedly being tailored jackets, none of the pics on the internet, bout them, showed it. Every last guy who had some had a shitty ill-fitting suit.

>>
>>10715516
cause they are not, stupid kuks at styleforum are so gullibles
>>
>>10715512
Recommending BLK DNM for an SLP replacement is awful. BLK DNM fits nothin like SLP, it's more rick owens/julius. Source: I own one. Please don't make recommendations on shit you've never tried on
>>
>>10716199
>comparing blk dnm to rick or julius
its made in india trash, might as well buy fast fashion shit.
>>
>>10715526
Fuck you.
>>
>>10715308
I own a TOJ (grailed for $320) and a few decent leather jackets (MMM 5-Zip, RO moto, LL rider) and the TOJ is not bad at all. I'd say it's 80% of the quality for a lot less in price. Not as shit as some of the contrarians on this board make it out to be. No idea about Falcon Leathers, but if it's the same atelier manufacturers then it should be roughly the same I am guessing.
>>
>>10715455
>dogshit
don't fall for the meme, they're decent jackets for the price.

Don't think a $5k YSL jacket is that much better, because it isn't. Serious, about $4k of that price is the name itself. Shit is made by immigrants in Italy, not actual Italians.
>>
why wouldnt you just buy a schott leather jacket? made in usa by white ppl. the ramones wore them.
>>
>>10717334
i said it fits like rick/julius in that it has longer sleeves
>>
>>10717415
>YSL made by immigrants
ignorant pleb, travel more you fucking twat
>>
>>10717384
TOJ for $320 is not bad, that should be the price not $900. that is the retail price in korea
>>
>>10715308
So basically everyone around here?
>>
>>10715308

I completely forgot what your image is supposed to be. You're like denim dan except you like BMWs and shooting things, right? Some kind of joke / troll poster that every once in a while manages to post something subtle enough to actually generate controversy?
>>
>>10717415
if you have any better suggestions, i'm all ears.

no one is providing alternatives except for the one fellow who suggested blk dnm
>>
>>10718910
How about you take the initiative to browse some web stores you lazy cunt
>>
>>10717447
fits differently
I'm told that they tend to be bulkier/not as slim
>>
>>10717770
hes basically pigfuck-lite

he used to raise a furor on the board from 2008-2011, like pf does/did, but nowadays his comments are relatively tame in a post-/pol/ world and we (those who've been around long enough) kinda tolerate him like a doddering old grandpa with colorful, but not particularly shocking or groundbreaking opinions

frankly im not even sure why he even hangs around the board anymore. hes about as provocative as marilyn manson in 2015
>>
>>10714131
>apparently if you barge in there, that's the only way to get a hold of him
Did somebody try this?
>>
>>10720120
Kekkk curious about this as well .
>>
>>10714848
its not going to be early
>>
>>10721737
> I can not detect sarcasm.
>>
>>10715237
100% accurate.

I don't think Drew originally intended to scam the fuck out of people, but he quickly got the notion once he probably did the math on the amount of work required to fill all of the orders he received. After all, he had no guarantee going in that he was gonna get the popularity that he did, given how dumb and picky styleforum kids can be. Drew just happened to land himself in the perfect situation where he could book it with the money and most people would have a hard time making him perform his end of the deal.

Also the denial was so goddamn similar to the Bitcoin kids and how they deny all reality, it's kinda scary. Same style of argument, just replace "Bitcoin" with fucking "Leather Jackets"
>>
>>10713977
toj successor? i heard he skipped leg day, and that's no good for me! If I ever hear about someone skippin leg day, they're out my window! Let me tell you!
>>
>>10720120
Korean dude tried to get a hold of him at the restaurant for an interview and got the cops called on him by the gf. You can read more at styleforum

>>
>>10718953
gee thanks, i never thought of that, which is why i definitely asked a message board first. also, i just got down on my knees and prayed that you would kill yourself.
>>
>>10717447
first off, i don't care if it's made by white people, you racist piece of shit. secondly, the cuts by schott aren't exactly flattering. they're boxy because they're actually made for riding. i'm just looking for something that looks nice.
>>
is blk dnm seriously made in india? that's incredibly disappointing
>>
>>10722406
Pity could've used that time to browse the men's jacket section instead
>>
>>10722566
I mean, browsing shops would lead him to buying shit like blk denim and falcon which weve clearly figured out arent right for him...
>>
>>10715455
Puerhomme, they make exact 1:1 copies of the saint laurent products. They use the same leather the real ones are made of but ofcourse if you want a high quality rep of real leather is will cost you. Its around 450 euros or something, ah no lel im not getting paid to say this

Kek this is the vid of someone going into the restaurant .
>>
>>10723034
>doesn't even own the restaurant
>just works there
talk about a fall from grace jesus christ
>>
>>10715512
>>10716199
Exactly this. I owned one and sold it because the sleeves were way longer than I expected, plus the lapels and epaulets made me look super wide which I didn't like. SLP is a lot more shrunken fitting
>>
>>10722429
Yeah. The construction on it isn't awful at all, but the leather quality is worse (imo) than something like Sandro or even Kooples, which are around the same price
>>
>>10725295
Thank god someone else has actually owned a BLK DNM and had the same experience as I had.

sleeves too long
lapels too wide
epaulets stand out too much
>>
>>10725302
I've noticed with leather goods especially that there's a huge trade off among price, quality, and construction. Cheaper goods made in places like india might have decent construction, but the materials will suffer. Cheaper goods made, say, stateside, might have great materials, but the construction will just be ass.

With leather, you really have to shell out the $$$, and it's disappointing that doing even that doesn't guarantee you a great product with blk dnm.
>>
>>10718979
So I'm guessing you're trying to discredit anyone who utters facts as you attempt to post shit viral marketing?

All korean fashion is shit fashion
>>
>>10725378
Yeah, every picture I saw of it online looked really good too. Like, even on skinny models it looked proportionate and the sleeves weren't long
>>
>>10725433
Definitely. You can get a very good leather jacket for less than $1000 (Schott, etc.), but then you have to deal with the gigantic cut and stuff. It bugs me that there's such a disparity with price/quality in "fashion" leathers
>>
>>10726754
this. Its rare to pick up a slim-cut good quality leather jacket thats not $1000+
>>
>>10726754
>>10727553
that's the thing. i'm willing to spend a little over a thousand. i'm not willing to spend five grand for saint laurent. i'd go to schott, but the cuts are boxy and they jackets are way too heavy because they're made for riding, not for just looking nice.

like, i've noticed that "high-end" leather jackets jump from ~$1100 and then jump way the fuck up to like three or four grand, which i can't afford.
>>
>>10727871
Picking up something used is probably the best option for people in our situation

You can usually find undercover leathers and stuff on like grailed or rakuten/Y!JP for around $1000 US or so
>>
>>10717350
fuck you leatherhead
>>
>>10726754
i mean if you're in the market for a poser jacket you'd be better off with black scissors off ebay

at least they're not sold under the guise that it's the world best jacket for poor people tricked into thinking they're the smarter consumers

what does "poser jacket" even mean? are you falling lambskin slim-fit jackets "poser jackets"?

Never followed the whole thing. Did they actually make the jackets themselves or did they buy them from some other factory and just "ripped the tag" ?
And if they did actually produce their stuff, why con people ?

basically what was happening was that he bought a number of jackets from china and got a price break due to volume

sent a few jackets to the moderators of styleforum free of charge, in exchange that he be allowed to do business there

he sent a few free jackets to blogs and moderators of reddit

since internet hype train moves quickly people started buying the jackets

he marketed them as if they were made to measure, many people initially believed him until he only asked for basic measurements that are nowhere near complete enough to have a true made to measure experience,

many people suspected he just sent stock sizes out. He quickly dropped the made to measure thing.

and marketed it as "custom fit" or "custom leather jackets" which you had to be placed on a waitlist for

the waitlist built up for 7 long years.....seriously we were talking about how TOJ was a fucking scam on here in 2009.

people, started "selling their place on the waitlist" once they figured out that "drew" the owner of the brand up and quit, dropped all communication and opened a resutrant in Korea

the restaurant failed in 2011 or so, also people went into his restaurant and started some shit with him (he is a frail and sick man, with no hearing)

after the resturant failed, he started selling even more "places in line" after he "closed orders to keep up with demand"

and pocketed the money

there are still people falling for this scam and low end jackets

since asian kids into fashion are pretty low on morality

the "demand" for the jackets was pretty high so a lot of korean kids were selling used TOJ jackets for more than they paid to certain styleforum members

it's basically a story in how a sub-culture of korean-americans, and korean natives ripped off a bunch of white people on fashion forums in america
>>
>>10730399
very well described sieg.

and now, history is repeating with a new name: FALCON GARMENTS

probably they wont go under, but the fact is that they're selling extremely overpriced-ill fitting jackets.
