I prefer art I can put in my house.

dude, it's art man, chill, it's just art

>90s computer generated graphics final college project
the fact that you thought it was a fake image just goes to show how cool turrell is
I actually chuckled at this thread. Solid proof how un/fa/ /fa/ is. You all have shit taste in art. Yes, conjecture is the most prominent feature of the art world. Bad art exists.
>>10684451
Thanks for this
>>10684451
most of the artists posted have a huge
aesthetic concern you moron. What Roger Scruton is talking about is the ugly and "easy" contemporary art (fisically n morally speaking).
>no Dan Park
plebians
>>10684451
oh man, this is really fucking poor to the point of being dangerous viewing if you arent familiar with the field already (ie know enough to spot how constantly disingenuous it is in its presentation of modern art).
>>10684451
>Hating on Duchamp's for his urinal masterpiece
>When it's part of a fucking art movement, in a very precise context
>Muh everyone can do it
Well, no. Because then, you'd be straight up copying what a man did a century ago.
>>10685646
Anyone who hates on Duchamp's urinal is either a pleb or is trying their hardest to be contrarian
this is objectively the best career in the world.
you are adored by patricians, travel internationally, have you ever seen art gallery qts? plus you can make 100k+ easily at the bottom end for only a few hours of work each month, and up to over a million at the higher ends, spend all your time thinking, no boss at all, and so on.
>>10685657
usually they just haven't taken art hist. 101, or don't wanna read a wiki article. they have to know how that thing fits in with everyone else.
>/fa/ is actually defending modern "art"
And here I thought this board couldn't get any more shitty.
>>10685534
>not only niggers have dreams

I have to agree it's garbage art except for >>10680459 which is just room design.

Fuck this video jesus christ
I hope no one on this board actually believes those opinions are valid
Also you're a true prole for bringing that video up in a thread where what has been posted clearly has an aesthetic appeal

nice
>>10686149
I have yet to see any of his works in person, actually - even just the idea of them really interests me.
To see how the light fills the space - it must be amazing in person.
one of my teachers at uni is very intrigued by light and space, he makes his own installations on these topics
>>10686181
very much worth it, it's very immersive
Dan Flavin's Icons are nice, too, though it's pretty much well-accepted that he evolved as an artist with his later works.
>>10686189
thanks for sharing. really liked it.
>>10686189

>>10686189
Can you enter this room? It looks awesome.
>>10684376
You can put sculptures in your house.
>>10685657
It literally sparked a new age of sculpting. After that anything was possible.
>>10686487
>no fucking image
>>10686264
I love this one, it looks like something from a Wes Anderson film.
>>10686501
Well, it's actually two of his Icons (specifically, I and II) placed next to each other, so you could say that they're two distinct works.
Yet, I am sure that Flavin had ideas of how to coordinate colors between the works, as he conceived the whole series. In other words, I am sure that it is no accident that I and II look so interesting and coherent next to each other.
Pic related are some more Icons, from an interesting angle.
