There was a discussion on /fit/ last night about tie bars. I thought this was a good height, but some other people thought it was too high and should be lower, almost at the height of your coat's first button. Are tie bars /fa/?
also suits general I guess. I know my tie's a little loose, I had just gotten home

I view it as an issue of personal preference, but it makes more sense from a practical standpoint to go lower - less of the tie can flap around in defiance of the tie bar.
I think what you have is acceptable if you like it.
go lower pham
tie bar is suppose to hold the tie down, it aint doing that when its up there
also we over long bars, short is the way to go

yeah I didn't think of that, but I'll be working in hospitals now and then so that's important, thanks

>short is the way to go
I know, I bought a set off amazon for cheap, assumed they were shorter than this. I'll give the others away as a gift
high up like that is better for super formal shit. go a little lower unless you are actually going somewhere super formal. id probably go lower anyway

Tie bars are for silly Americans.
Also your suit fits like shit.
>Shoulders have more padding then an 80's rockband
>Sleeves too long
>Lapels died four years ago.
>Tie too loose
>Gutter too deep
>Jacket collar sits shitty.
Also >black suit.

>implying there's any padding and that's not just the effect of having raised arms and big shoulders
>implying I didn't just say that i loosened the tie deliberately
>implying
also the suit is navy.
Personally I like having it show just over my first button if I have it closed.
