I'm done with learning physic, its literally impossible for me.
What I want just to make a fabric that actually act like one when it touch the model body, in the end I just make them goes crazy like those creature from The Thing.

Creating too much body and joints might be the source of the problem even when I already add their limits, but if I used less of joints they just appear like any regular low poly physic.

With SFM and other programs starting to gain popularity, how long until the MMD program is completely outdated and useless? I've seen models loaded into SFM and the animations and models look much better than in MMD. MMD still mostly looks like 90% of everything in it is made from the 90s, with the exception of a few really good renders. There's always clipping and terrible texturework. The physics seem over complicated. How long until people start loading dances and models into other programs? Probably not including the japs, since they are becoming technologically ancient due to their stubbornness.

There is a problem with SFM: while in theory it could be used for the same purpose as MMD, it isn't in practice. Most of the SFM content is a crappy looped sex between some ugly guy and a typical R34'ed character. When it isn't a crappy looped hetero sex, it is a crappy looped futanari sex. Things such as erotica and yuri are mostly unheard of in SFM community, which is strange, seeing how they are easier to make. MMD is entirely different: it mostly features erotica, since not many people bother with creating something more complex because it is difficult and doesn't lead to promising results.

Well, it's getting to the point (almost 2016) where the majority of MMD erotica is unfappable unless you have very low standards. Low poly models with terrible textures doing the same exact dances, and even 10 years or so after MMD was released, we still can't get the models to strip properly and clothes just vanish into thin air. We have to evolve eventually, and we can't rely on Japan to do it. Look at their damned dating sims.. Same shit as from the 80s and they are perfectly happy.

You don't need a plugin to import anything to SFM. It's a fairly easy process to compile a model.

Once you use one of the various pmx/pmd import plugins for 3dsmax, blender, or maya, the model is about 5 minutes from being in SFM.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to mimic a lot of MMDs shaders. It's completely unique in that regard, so the models that are made to be used with those shaders end up looking fucking retarded.

I remember a MMD video from years and years ago, with a girl doing the strip pole dance... Being an ass-man, it was an instant favorite of mine, and is still the only one I've seen like that to this very day. OPM Tatsumaki MMD model got realistic fabric physic on it, but it seem impossible to copy since the one piece alone got more than one hundred joints and 0,1 sphere body on it.

The effort it takes to make stripping work is not worth it to most people who even bother to create content in MMD. Why pander to high standards when there's plenty who are fine with usual bare naked while they dance to JPN Pop Song #1324 the 100th time?

You'd need to model or edit personalized clothing that work well with MMD's shitty physics and make sure they have proper weights, morphs and bones. That's like making half a model right there.

It doesn't help that the MMD community don't like to share their video creation techniques. Anyone who has already figured out how to do stripping regularly will take that secret to with them to their grave.

I find stripping to be too high a bar for the likes of MMD fap material. I'm satisfied enough if they have decent looking shaders and video quality, which is enough of a rarity these days.

This video has got "stripping." But it only happens in the last quarter of the video when the mikus appear and it's extremely brief.

A few questions for you guys.

Lastly, is there any way to merge two meshes of a model together using PMXeditor like this? Having them split apart across the body gives you this crappy looking, clearly visible outline of each mesh.

i assume you want to remove the seams. one of the most painfull tasts in mmd.
1. merge the verticles that create those lines with ctrl+j, this will fuck it up even more
2.fix the uv map, using uv editor plug in helps
3.(optional) if the seam persist check the edge color values in the texture with your better than paint graphical editing software and repaint if theyre different

not the anon you're answering, but i want to add that, if the combined vertex is from different materials and have different textures, moving one of the conected vertex from one material will fuck up the uv map of the other material that has the conected vertex, a solution is combining the materials (meaning as well that they will share the same texture).
but i found another solution:
first you need to separate and save as another pmx file one of the meshes that are causing this problem (keep only the vertex, bones and morphs, erase rigid bodies and physics)
second you save the stuff left as another pmx file (that includes the rigid bodies and physics that you erased on the other pmx file), and then re-add the erased mesh on it. now you can edit the uv map on the separate meshes without fucking it up

It's a result of heavy traffic. During those times, there could be 200+ people trying to use the site, with an unknown amount trying to leech "illegally" and further compounding the problem.

The servers are configured with nginx to server video content from the content servers and only serve from main server if the content servers don't have the video file. So, generally this means only the most recently uploaded videos.

Past month, content servers combined used about 40TB of data.
While main server used about 60TB by itself.

Problem? I think so.
We are going to try new configurations with the new website and see if it helps.

MMD physics is an old version of bullet, which runs on CPU and utilizes up to two cores. If your pc is dying that's probably not because physics. Try turning physics off (physical operation --> no calculation) and see if it gets better.

Does MMD cant utilized the full power of modern hardware?
Currently I'm using MMD ver926 64bit and from using Open Hardware Monitor while running MMD my CPU never reach 50% load and my GPU barely load at all.

At fist I thought my rig is dying but when I tried running a video game, both my CPU and GPU are running correctly with over 60 fps and reaching 100% load all the time for its GPU.
But the MMD is struggling at 11 fps even when both CPU and GPU still not reaching its maximum load power.

My CPU is i3-2100 3.1Ghz and GPU AMD Sapphire 7790, I was planning to upgrade my rig to i7 and R9 390, but will I noticed any different of performance seeing MMD barely used half of my current rig performance?

i gonna admit that i like many of the miku models, every one has something that makes them really great (tda's for the legs and hips, pxch's for delicious loli, apimiku which for being really adorable), and pic related.
i really love the har of this one, and her mouth morphs are nice (even though she doesn't have teeth or tongue), also bushy eyebrows, makes the model even cuter.

iirc i resized the body but i can't remember by how much, i also edited those model's, body, panties, bra and stocking's texture to make it fit with the color of miku's face and underwear.
overall, it's was an easy and fun edit to do, and i liked the results, but i wonder if there's a better body, sometimes i compare the bust of the original and the headswap model, and i see that the full body one is just a bit bigger, but just a little.

I'm trying to learn MMD, and so far I'm doing fine, but I can't figure out how to use PMX editor, and I can't find any decent tutorials that don't revolve around outdated software like the old versions of PMD editor. I'm sure it's a simple problem to solve, but it has been annoying me all day.

I have a model, and I have a prop (pmd) that I want to attach to the model permanently. It's stationary, so it doesn't need to use physics, jiggle, or have bones afaik. I just want to stick it to the model's body so I can throw it in MMD and have it not spazz out all over the place. If anyone can give me the proper method, or has a link to an up to date tutorial that isn't for an out of date program, I would be grateful to have it.

Opening the main model (pmx) in pmx editor, dragging and dropping (also importing) the pmd prop with it. I've had the prop appear on top of the pmx model, but I can't seem to move either of them with the movement arrows, and the prop seemed to be glued to the model, so it basically warped whenever I tried to move it away.

Got it working again. One thing that's really bugging me is that I can't drag and select with the mouse. When I click something it doesn't respond the way I feel it should. I was following a fairly recent PMX editor video on youtube and I was able to follow everything up to the point where she was picking bones in the vert/mat box and hers were all unchecked by default, yet mine are all checked, then she said "hold down the left mouse button and select the prop" which didn't work. All of my options were selected exactly like hers. Seems she was using the Japanese version. I feel like I'm the only one who actually uses the English version. I got it off of trollvids I think. I'll either have to figure out a workaround or try and download the Japanese version, which seems to be different.

then you will have to put the parts together on pmxeditor,

It's an odd feeling to have things like models becoming exclusive and impossible to find online. If I like a model, the first thing I want to do is share it with someone who might be decent at making videos that I might enjoy with said character. Speaking of things that are annoying, I've been forced to scrounge through deviantart for some models, and it's a surprisingly decent source of props and accessories for MMD. That makes sense. It's interesting to see how other people find value in things. I noticed as I've been getting older I can suddenly fap to stories now, which is something I've never been able to do before. I would always need some kind of visual aid. Which is odd, because I could argue that I had a much more vivid imagination when I was younger. It has been a great revelation, since I've been able to find tons of awesome story material on the net. I also used to fap almost exclusively to images before, and now I rarely ever fap to images unless they're animated. Weird shit, and I'm no psychologist so I'll leave it at that.

Does anyone know how to edit the "script" of an MMD motion file? There's a bone being used in the motion that's named slightly different from the bone in the model I'm using, but they do the exact same thing. I'd rather not edit the bone name on all of my models for a single motion, so I figured I'd go into the script for the motion and change the bone name in there instead.

njxa is a body set for 3dcustom girl (just like the kuro mod posted in the thread) but you don't necesarily need the game, with simply downloading tso2pmx you can import them, but its already uploaded somewhere.
but with the game and other tools/mods for it,you can proportionate the body better than with the options available in tso2pmx

technical question. i have a model with a tail, and in PMX editor it shows that the tail has a few bones in it, yet in MMD dance editor it doesn't show the tail's bones, so i can't select them to animate them. all the other non-tail bones are selectable, and the tail does have working physics. anyone know?
