Found this Cypress plank from the mid eighteen hundreds in the wash up line of our recent thousand year flood in the southeast. Other than the obvious and giving it a good coat of lacquer and leaving a little bit of patina, what would be some other ideas for this beautiful piece? Will check back after work on my lunch break now thanks in advance for any input.

How third world of a country do you have to live in to grab a big stick and throw it in your car and call it a project?
That being said, it is remarkably straight. Some nice stain on that and maybe a rod through it and a nice square mount might look pretty nice on a wall.mits a bit big to be vertical' but horizontal over a television might look good.

I would stain it and finish it with a lot of gloss and then put coat hooks on it,
