That is not how it works my friend. You are more dependant on your neighbors broadcast power then you are your ability to receive. If his system is shit there is very little you can do from your end. Those ratings are almost certainly its broadcast ratings.

Its about getting the most of the signal you want plus the least of those you don't. Omni directional like you have there is not ideal.

Wifi is a two-way street. It is not light FM radio where all you have to worry about is your antenna because the radio station has some 250 ft monster antenna putting out 50,000 watts.You have to be able to send and receive. Sending is likely not your issue. The problem is the* other guy* has insufficient sending strength.

Think of it as two people throwing a ball back and forth. You can throw the ball well and it reaches the other person on target every time.
