I am making a hinged door using acrylic and screws, and on the end of the screw in this picture there is something to hold it in place. It is not included with the hinge. What is it called?
Also if you know of a better acrylic hinged door feel free to share thanks.

I don't know what that little piece of crap is called, but I'd much rather use machine screws with proper nuts. But that's just me, because I've worked on lots of things and weird "nuts' like those clips seem to be one-use only, which makes sense from the manufacturer's point of view that nobody takes their shower door off very often.

when I google "clip nut" I get this.

clip-on nut

Tinnerman-Style U-Type Nuts

If it were me, I'd make a thicker plate for the side opposite the hinge. Drill and tap some blind holes for machine screws and put the screws in from the hinge side. Nickel plate or anodize the fabbed plates.

This^^
Those clips are junk. And the machine screws would look MUCH more professional.

Did Nvidia make this? Why the fuck would they use that type of screw?

The hinge is for wood cabinets.
The screw is included with the hinge.
It's intended to screw into the wood door from the side the clip nut is on.
The person just used the included screw instead of changing to a more appropriate nut and bolt.
