I found some old binoculars. Do you think I could make a VR headset thing out of it? Like Google's cardboard thing?

I was planning to take the farther lenses out and measure out how far they should be from your phone to work and fix them in a cardboard box. Like this, but you know, more makeshiff

I probably should have explained more. I don't mean to actually use the entire binoculars, just the lenses
How old are we talking here?

I'm not sure, I found them in my storage
I went ahead and built a little something. It works with my phone and those vr videos on YouTube. At most it looks like a 3d movie

They seemed cheap, at least I hope it they were. The main ocular lenses, the ones you would use to see, weren't even on it when I found it. There's no branding or labels, and I vaguely remember it from my childhood. I don't know where it came from.
