Would I be able to install gutters on this shed? I want to setup a rain barrel system.
if there is a solid frame to screw the brackets into, possibly
why aren't you collecting from a house? a small area under trees is not ideal

Rainfall is the official property of the United States Government.
Capturing or diverting this water in any way is strictly prohibited and punishable by law.
Be a good citizen and promptly report any offenders to the proper authorities.
That is all.

Wife doesn't want it on the house. So I am taking what I can get to start out. >>1217288
Troll but triggered me. Congrats bootlick.
>>1217322
>Troll but triggered me. Congrats bootlick.
Not really. He is correct it is illegal in some states.
>>1217260
if you want cheap, buy 1" thin walled pvc and cut it down the middle with a bandsaw or jigsaw. make brackets with EMT conduit brackets and use a level to slope the channels into your barrel
>>1217260
why is the corrugations on that roof going sideways?
shouldn't they be aligned vertically to allow water runoff?
looks like water could get stuck in the corrugations.
siding also looks wrong. the corrugations are usually aligned vertically
>>1217322
>Wife doesn't want it on the house.
you dun goofed
assuming you already have gutters, there should be no reason you couldn't redirect the downspouts to go to a tank at the back of the house
just start pitching the idea and throw in words like "pintrest", "milk paint", "pastel", "distressed"....
>>1217322
>Wife doesn't want [X]
I think I found your main problem here OP
>>1217288
That's only local and state laws and only in those areas. It is actually pretty rare and many places that once had it, have repealed it in the past 5 years.
>>1217398
i know i was just joking but the way the feds are so out of control already i wont be surprised the day they actually try it
>>1217400
Yea I knew it was a joke and I would be surprised if it was illegal in my state. It's fairly common for people to have these.
>>1217371
I'm pitching it as having water for my garden and dogs. The case of the dogs are in case of emergency. Since we have two big dogs that require a decent amount of water.
>>1217322
>Wife doesn't want it on the house
Rain barrels can be quite attractive.
You would't be collecting much water from that roof surface... but it can be done.
>>1217837
even if it was overhanging like this?
>>1217837
>>not understanding that if the joints were going up and down, water could run down the joints and get behind the siding
>go back to school and take a physics class or something, tard boy
Well, not-tard-boy, all metal roofs except for the odd little joke like that one have the joints running up and down and they work fine because of, well, physics.
>>1217861
That metal roof is a single piece with bends for stiffness. They aren't joints
>>1217926
>single piece
lol are you serious? some factory makes huge custom roof pieces for every house?
you have never hammered a nail in your life.
>>1217929
No, you get them in huge sheets and you cut them to size. For something as small as a shed it would indeed be one piece. And actually the way I know isn't by hammering nails, it was by pulling them. Tore down my shed last year
>>1217946
>you get them in huge sheets
not in america. maybe where you live.
2.33 feet wide. way less than your metre
post link to your "huge sheet". lol. are you just making this up or do you have voices in your head?
>>1217949
I'm just gonna go ahead and admit defeat. The shed I tore down was one building, maybe it was just a one off. I've never built anything with a metal roof before so I wouldn't have a link even if they do exist.
>>1217946
>>1217926
explain this then
>>1217962
>explain this then
That's the normal way.
>>1217322
Then tell her she can live in the shed without the collector
>>1217322
>Wife doesn't want it
ask your bull to convince her
