How would you go about making your own coasters?
I was thinking about buying some blank coasters like this, then make a design in photoshop and print it out.
But i don't know how to get the design to stick onto the coasters
>>1214610
why do you need a design? coasters are for under the drinks. I make mine out of 1x4 pressure treated wood and the ladies love them.
You can get 1x4 pressure treated wood just about anywhere. Use your Leatherman to saw it into squares, and walla, it's party time and the ladies will love you.

It's for a drinking club.
And they need to be made off cork, as they can sometimes be thrown at people for fun.
>>1214615
>as they can sometimes be thrown at people for fun.
Well, that does not sound like my idea of fun. Someone could lose an eye and then what do you say.
And this whole "drinking club" thing. That's a joke, right? When I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.
>>1214622
There are rules. So, close your eyes and you will be fine. Done it for 10 years and no one has gotten hurt ;)
>And this whole "drinking club" thing. That's a joke, right?
No. It's a very unique concept developed over years. Quite fun and hard to explain.
>>1214631
>Quite fun and hard to explain.
I suppose it involves having friends that you actually want to be with later on when you are drinking a bit.
>>1214639
It can be. But you will have a good time even if you know no one there.
Tho, you need to know one member on the inside, who can invite you in.
Then pass a simple challenge, and you're officially a member.

>drinking club with coasters
you mean a gay bar
>>1214612
>pressure treated wood
>to be used in the vicinity of drinks
>hands them out to roasties
absolutely devilish my man...
>>1214622
>>1214642
Sounds like a gay orgy party.
Aren't there places that make these shits for you?
>>1214642
I was willing to give you a chance until this post OP. Yeah, now it sounds not only like a gay bar, but also like it's in Arkansas, so everyone there is at least a second cousin too. Anyways, make your coasters out of clay, paint on whatever design you like, embed razor blades around the edge, then fire in a kiln. Now just throw like a discus, and have a ball!
>Bonus points for using a shot of black in the paint, so they'll know you're a pro.
>>1214889
I don't believe anon's little drinking party is interracial but I could be wrong.
>>1214868
>>1214889
I can promise you that it's the least gay thing imaginable.
It's hard to explain, as it's nothing to compare it to. Everyone who have been there, and not been actually gay, have enjoyed it and joined again and again.
Anyway! Stop caring about it.
And I was thinking about just buying cork coasters, and spraypaint the logo on.
Cutting the logo out on cardboard and spraying over it to get the logo on the coasters type of deal.
>>1214682
Said you throw them on people
>>1214900
Oh, so it's a straight sex drinking party. Sound great, where are you?
Okay, how about burning? If you can make a steel template of your design and then just pass a broad flame over it to scorch, that would be pretty durable. If you could get an embossed metal template of your design (copper or brass, not aluminum), you could just heat it up and brand it on.
>>1214906
WELL. It's fun. I enjoy it.
I'm in Norway
That's a good idea, but don't really have the equipment for that. I guess I could just some metallic wire, that can be formed to spell the name of the "club".
>>1214912
Aww, we Amerifats never get to have any fun.
You don't really need much equipment. There are service bureaus who will cut a 2D vector design out of thin sheet metal for you for a fairly reasonable price. If you have a local hackerspace, they may have a laser cutter. You could possibly use a heat gun instead of a flame, or if their cutter has the capacity and quantities are reasonable, could laser engrave the coasters directly. Maybe you could use stain, with a stencil or with a rubber stamp, but fine details might bleed too much. Last resort, you could get woodburning tools at a craft store for sort-of reasonable prices.

If you live around the Oslo area they have a chinkshit CO2 laser at Bitraf
https://bitraf.no/wiki/Laser
Don't think it's rated for steel, though
>>1214923
They have it in USA also. It's bigger there.
I will look into it. Might be useful for different projects. But sounds too time consuming for this.
>>1214929
Hmm, no. Not in Oslo. But, again, sounds time consuming, tho a CO2 laser sounds neat.
Mostly looking for a low effort, cheap and quick method.
Think I will go to IKEA, get some cheap coasters, and spraypain them. Easy ;)
They will not last long.
>>1214615
here's a tip: make your coasters round, that way you can make them out of anything you want short of heavy metals
Why does the material even matter? They're just condensation guards for the underlying table. Make some out of silly putty.
$150 gearbest laser printer
run it twice for each coaster
there.
>>1214900
>spraypaint the logo on
What's the logo?
>>1214935
If they don't need to wear for very long, try toner transfer. Basically, you print your artwork reversed on inkjet photo printing paper using a laser printer, lay them toner side down onto the article, then use a clothes iron to melt the toner and transfer it to the article. Glossy magazine paper also works if cut to size.

Get white ceramic tile.
Print wtf ever on white tissue paper.
Thin layer modge podge and smooth on tile.
Layer or 2 modge podge on top.
Works great and easy af
Dumpster dive or Craigslist a bunch of old hdd's. Take out the platters use as coasters.

>>Bonus points for using a shot of black in the paint, so they'll know you're a pro.
I loved that thread
>>1215735
>mfw i get caught in a sex club with a coaster containing 350GB of child porn
>>1215735
>Take out the platters use as coasters.
I could send him a huge box of AOL CDs
>>1215962
THIS
>>1215962
Yanno... in all due seriousness, there is an idear here.
Use LightScribe to print on blank CD-R. Glue data side down to corksquare. et voila! Le printed coaster.
>>1214610
I make homemade coasters sometimes with chainsaw cuttings of logs and then sand and finish with a coat of melted wax or clear gloss polyurethane
They turn out pretty cool looking
>>1214642
Is the code word a shot of black toclet them know you're a professional?
>>1214900
Just like gay orgies are not really gay. I can't compare it with anything because there is nothing like it... Everyone I know who went once have come back to get jackhammered by Tyrone again and again and again. Nothing gay about that, you judgmental cismale.
Spraypaint could crumble off from the cork if you throw it around etc. Guess it needs to be really stuck on there if you are gonna put it up your friends' asses and will be covered in the occasional shit-and-cum coctail.
I made some out of leather, using a basic leatherwork starter pack. Pretty rough but suits my tastes.
>>1216116
How are gay orgies not gay?
Is that like the sound of a retard counting to potatoes or some other zen shit?
>>1216129
>2017
>gay orgies being gay
why is there so many anons in here thingken about (gay) orgies?
>>1216116
This anon mentioned it and made it confusing
>>1216129
I called him out on the drek he spewed
>>1216135
>>1216179
Are now trying to make should like we're discussing the finer points of gay orgies. I'm still waiting on the answer of how a gay orgy isn't gay. Because a room full of gays, sticking dicks in each other is the exact definition of gay.
>>1214610
I used 12x12 mesh back tile cut down to size and grouted, glued to laminate felt underlaymwnt as a cushion so it doesn't damage what its setting on
