I'm a paintee and I'm doing a parody of a Lichtenstein piece. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out a way to do Ben-Day dots that wouldn't take me fucking forever when I remembered that I'd bought a mesh screen for my car. I'd like to know where I can buy just the mesh so I can use it as a screen/mask.

If you knew anything about Lichtenstein or pop art in general you would know thats exact how he did the paintings, its just perforated film like in your pic. Just get perforated vinyl film in amazon or go to an cloth store and get perforated vinyl sheets

Perfect, thank you. I didn't know what it was called and wasn't making any progress googling. I also couldn't find anything about his techniques, just pages and pages gushing (or the opposite) about the significance of his work.

If you can't find the specific vinyl sheet you want you could always use screenprinting.

Lichtenstein used huge Aluminum sheets and drilled equidistant holes in it. That way it was re-usable and easier to manage. You could also used screen printing for the dots, using a UV filter and just pay attention to where you spread the paint. There are plenty of ways to get the same effect, but aluminum and screen printing will produce the most authentic image.
