I got to haul away a cabinet maker's stash of wood for free on condition that I take all the pieces. It's a few hundred pounds of woods of different colors and species. Also a few pieces of plywood and crap that I haven't fully sorted out yet.
Wat do? most of the pieces are too small to do anything with, so barring any good ideas it's going to be used for fuel in bonfires. Do you think this would be good for making homemade charcoal?
What do you do with scrap wood?

You can practice joinery, jewelry boxes, marquetry, make miniatures, doll houses, doll house furniture, that sort of thing.

I use scrap to replace fences and do test cuts.
Have seen folks glue them up and turn them, make spoon holders, pot holders, etc.

Don't burn treated wood. Burning the chemicals release worse chemicals. Polluting, toxic, etc.
At least stay away from the smoke, and don't cook with it.
make wood crates
sell them

Wooden fishing lures.
Handles for tools, lids, drawers, etc.
Knife scales.
Children's block sets/cabin construction set.
Shelf rests.

dont burn that wood!
even the smallest pieces can be used to cut plugs from. Wood from my shop doesn't go to the burn pile until its either tiny end pieces or defective pieces that have splits and cracks making it useless. There's a reason that cabinet maker kept all that in the first place.
Whatever hardwoods you have in there could be used in end grain cutting blocks. You can make decent money selling those.

Gonna go out on a limb and say if he got it from a real cabinet maker there probably won't be any treated wood in there..
OP, whatever you do, when you apply finish to your project, make sure you've added a shot of black to at least the last coat, so the buyers will know you're a pro.

Save plywood for gussets
Save any hickory for handles
Save everything else for other shit
After a year burn all the shit you havent used

OP here, been there, done that. I'm not going to bother because working with wood too short to put through the planer is a pain in the ass.
I'm learning towards the charcoal idea. Especially since off camera there is a big can liner with a bunch of off cuts of mainly end grain...just completely useless from a woodworking perspective.

Fishing lures!

don't different woods expand/contract at different rates?

Fucking lazy ass pleb. Grow some balls, lose some weight and make something.

For a second I thought this picture was satire and that you put the penny on the lure as bait for jews.

Lol @ shot of black
Dont forget, to apply 11 coats, then sand it down to original wood.

A lot of that looks sizeable enough for pistol/knife grips. If the wood is decent and the grains are nice, you could sell them as knife/pistol blanks.

>shot of black
Fuckin reeeeeeeeeekt
Butcher Block Factory

Yes, thats why theyre fuck massive to prevent warpage, I fucking hate end grain shit (am hobbie butcherfag) much rather have a plywood crossgrain board, easier to move about and easier to make.
