You could borrow one of the dresses the doll already has and see where the seams and shapes are that you'll need. Roughly trace it out on some paper and use that as a template to cut fabric pieces.

Thats how i got that rough sketch ive actually made a few test dresses already but when i put them on the test doll it bunches up it the chest area and looks weird

Well shes had it since she was super little i think they (her parent's my aunt) got it for her when she was like 3 i think? So its kind of like a teddy now if you know what i mean, shes REALLY attached to it

also here's one for ref as well if you print it out on an A4 paper(fir to paper) its just about the perfect size with only a small amount of cut off on the arm/bottom of the dress

Its just a doll of a similar make&model for fittings and to make sure the dress is the right size

Idk man its her fav i think its a totally ok thing to have a fav toy you hold onto though out your life and into your adolescents especially if your a girl something to help you thiugh the rocky pupurty years

its not good past the toddler years, during "puberty years" your better off having a person to depend and talk to rather than a doll.

as for the dress you should make the arms from seperate material cuttings so it doeant have so much of a sack look.

If you have access to dresses, take a look at how they are constructed. Sleeves are in two pieces, chest in 2 pieces with darting, skirt might be a circle skirt. Look into it.

Idk i think its just a good thing to have something like that to hold onto to ne its importent to keep things from your childhood as a reminder to of who you wanted to be and who you really are, all the same, im going to male it for her

Thanks for the advice im going tp by a measuring tape after i get off work tonight so a can make sure that all the parts have a good margin ill post the templet parts after that ill make the dress in 4 to 6 pieces i guess

took longer then expected but i got the measurements done and lay out with a .5 in over lay for each of the segments

now what i think i have to do is cut out the two side for each segment (10 segments in total) and the 12 trim segments ( maybe 14 if i desire an extra color layer on the bottom of it

the bar on the bottom is the template for the trim if that wasn't clear

Check out Marvelous Designer. It's a 3D modeling application used to design clothing. It outputs patterns you can cut.

It's expensive because it was used in a few Weta films, so the developers grew big hooknoses, and it's also a bit crashy, but it works great.
Just pirate it.
