Hey /diy/, I'm planning on re purposing a big empty adhesive spray can with some fittings so I can pour in whatever I can into the to be sprayed. The only problem is the propellant. I'd rather not use compressed gas into the can, because I've read that pumping a cannister full of air is much more dangerous than using liquid propellant. Can i just use regular butane fuel I get at the gas station for lighters as a propellant, or would that not work?
You can use butane but the safest bet for DIY use would likely be CO2. CO2 works with low pressure and is non-flammable. You'd really need to tell us what you are going to put in the can if you want a more tailored solution.

Just out of cusiosity, why a glue can? I'd use a brake cleaning fluid can as that shit most definitely will have a clean inside. In the glue can there will be residual glue.
Get a Sure Shot.
Inexpensive and last forever.
what about paint?
got a bunch of paint cans that have been dried shut and are otherwise useless, but still have paint in them

Mostly because adhesive spray cans are huge compared to other spray cans ive found, and I want my can to hold a lot.

This idea will cause you to die (and possibly others in the blast radius). Use a spray gun & a compressor.

Look harder. I'm with the other guy. A glue can is a terrible idea.
