Considering that kevlar isn't a solid material like steel, I don't recommend making your armor as if it was a solid piece of metal. Assuming that you're not just making a vest, give the kevlar lots of room to stretch and move, so it'll work as intended.

Plexiglass can be shaped easily and is very hard.
What do you need defense from in particular?

you would be better off with ceramic plates, like dragon skin armour.
What about aluminium plates, for the same weight as steel its more efficient.
