I want to get into a mechanical parts casting hobby, for the matter. I'm also researching about that. Im getting interested in woodworking lately... I think I misused the term craft when i made the post. It's not serious/professional but it would still be a very interesting skill to have when making precision projects

Get yourself some nice calipers and get to work copying random objects.
Get autocad
