So two of my office chair's leg snapped (it's plastic) and I'm wondering if it's possible replace the base using another office chair's base. But I'm not sure if all office chair's have the same base size so I'm asking here. Google mostly returns gas cylinder replacement searches and almost zero base repairs.

I bet you're a bit fat american with more folds than /po/

Measure it with calipers or such then head to your local state surplus and pick up a similar base (w/ chair) for about $20. Keep in mind some cylinders taper some dont so make sure you get the right type base. If you go a little to big you can always pad the cylinder out to fit.

most of the time /diy/ doesn't give you the solution you want, but the solution that you need.
In this case, it's a gym membership

Don't bother with fixing it. Look for one with steel or alloy base which are kind of hard to find new these days

Kek!

I have an old chair so I guess I'll try out swapping those legs first. If I'm going to shell out money then I should just buy a new one altogether.

While I appreciate your concern for my health I'm really looking for a fix since the chair is pretty comfy. I honestly didn't know that plastics legs are easily snapped like that, I mean I admit I'm overweight but definitely not obese. The chair breaking is pretty insulting tbqh.

Go home everyone, we're done for the day.

reminds me of the time a land whale posted a pic of her face on /b/ and someone replied "rolls or GTFO".

These words mean nothing, if you can't run 2km then you're a waste of human.
