Hey /diy/ers,
Im making a large (16"x20"x45") UV cure box to cure my SLA 3D prints, made out of acrylic.
I need advice on the UV bulb placement.
Pic is the general design, a box with a sliding door (because I dont want to deal with hinges and acrylic), and racks for more room.
Should the bulbs be coming in from the left and right side (so they are parallel to the back face), or should they be coming in from the back side (perpendicular to the back face)...
Any input is appreciated.
I would put them from back to front

i would use these.
attach front and lid together, mount lamps to that.
print on mesh rack in the middle of the box mounted at the bottom, not touching the sides.

Not a bad idea,
what do you mean by attach front and lid together tho.

The top of the box, one side of the box and the lamps would need to lift together as one piece directly upwards

Acrylic is the worst material to use for your box.
UV light photochemically degrades plastic polymers.
Within a week the UV light will frost the inside and make it brittle.
If you're thinking of making it out of clear acrylic, you risk eye damage and cellular damage from the light. The least being Photokeratitis and photoconjunctivitis the worst Cataracts and Cancer.
