you'd want to use a bunch of low memory instances with GPU acceleration. This means writing (or finding) some CUDA optimized code. I'd say a $5,000 monthly instance should net about 2bitcoins a month.

The problem with mining new coins is that the complexity of the numbers is massive at this point and you are racing against massive corporations that set up entire data centers near hydroelectric and solar electricity sources.
