So, guys
Need to fix the indicators on my bike
>Wat solder gun is gud?
>do i put the resistance before or after the bulb?
>is heatshrink wrap waterproof?
>if not how do i weatherproof the connection?

>Wat solder gun is gud?
dunno, pic related could work for you.
>do i put the resistance before or after the bulb?
doesn't matter
>is heatshrink wrap waterproof?
no
>if not how do i weatherproof the connection?
use hotglue
>>1195037
OK, so gonna buy the chinkiest thing i can
Can't use hotglue, the heat of the bike would just re-melt it
>>1195040
then use 2 copmponent epoxy glue.

Fun fact: Electrons actually flow from negative to positive. But it doesn't matter. Electronics is applied math.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_current#Conventions
Also, since i'm switching from incandescent to led i need roughly a 10w resistance from the bulb
I got a 25w
Will it be OK if both lights are wired to it?
Acquired soldering iron from the land beyond dawn
How do i work it without cooking my wires?
>>1195074
watch a bunch of videos and practice on something else.
touch iron, touch solder, lift solder, lift iron, in that order.
>>1195075
R8 first solder
>>1195082
potato/10 cant see shit
>>1195082
It's out of focus? How are the wires spliced? Western Union/lineman splice? Is that even good for stranded wire? I don't know shit, which is why I'm on this board.
>>1195084
Too smol to focus
>>1195085
Skinned the wires, spreaded and twirled them together then heated them up to 500 and put the solder on them
>>1195089
put it lay down on the fucking table and shine a fucking light one it to focus you fuck
>>1195033
Just buy an auto blinker relay. It works with leds and normal light bulbs. Its like 3€. Usually u just need to connect a separate ground to it and thats all.
>>1195089
Previous to soldering, you could have slid on a few pieces of shrink tubing to heat on after the fact.
Either that or a butt splice.
>>1195115
>ground
The whole bike is ground
And i can't because the ECU handles the blinking and it'll throw codes if there's no signal from the lights
>>1195127
Let me guess, you have a ducatti? If that is so , i know you can reprogram the ecu blinker for led lights. But yeah, its simpler to just solder some resistors on the wires.
>>1195132
>pic in op
Issa an Aprilia
Same brand ECU afaik
So, i have a question
I had wired the resistances in series and it did not work, but wiring them in parallel did
What gives?
>>1195043
No you idiot
There is a place in this world for silicone sealant and this is precisely that place
>>1195740
Ah tes, was gonna use that anyway
I'm also building a side case and tent holster and using it to both waterproof the lid and make bumpers to avoid scratching shit
