What the FUCK is digital systems design?
What am I getting myself into? Is it even remotely close?

but you didn't

Yeah, sure, sounds obvious. However, how can a functional school teach that shit but not general EE?

Not him, but my college offers Industrial Electronics and Automation. Names might sound specific or fancy but you'll probably cover analog as well as digital electronics and then specialize in something.
Check the subjects for each year just in case.

Basically robotics, industrial control, CAM, CNC, stuff like that. I did (roughly) the same thing. You learn everything from the electron up to operating systems.

Analog electronics is a lot more complicated then digital. With digital you have 0v and 5v (or 3.3v). Your transistors are going to be off (logic 0) or full saturation (logic 1). Anything in between is an error, where for analog that's where all the important work is done.
You will get an intro to EE, though.
But the real WTF is why didn't you apply for the program you actually wanted to study?

there goes 90% of EE
