Need some ideas for an automated ground coffee dispenser wich

Need some ideas for an automated ground coffee dispenser wich dispenses exact amount each time. I have SG-90 servos and a 3d printer at my disposal. Already tried archimedes' screw but the servo wasnt strong enough to spin the screw.
>>
>>1176314
make a wheel divided into 4 quadrants
each is the volume of coffee you need
make 2 opposite sides closed
your hopper is the same size as the opening on the wheel and pressed directly on the wheel
servo turns wheel 180deg at a time, dumping & filling with each half
>>
>>1176319
Tried this also but needs a way to knock the crumbs down since they do tend to support each other forming an arch over the hole.
>>
>>1176320
create a vibrator to shake the contraption.
>>
>>1176323
a cell phone motor attached to the wheel could work

So should I just print this? I have the container that would attack on top of this. The servo would be on the bottom. In this concept two exact servings of grounds are being dropped.
>>
>>1176329
looks reasonable

how long does it take to print though?
>>
>>1176334
Bout 3 hours for the whole thing. Leaving off to work in a bit and leaving this to print. Will post result if this thread is still alive (doubt it)

OP I'm watching this thread

wew nigga you have some wrong expectations
Could've used a stepper motor for the auger
>>
>>1176336
don't worry, diy is pretty slow compared to other boards.

I would do it with a design similar to a rotary airlock.

You understand the amount of power you'd need to turn a screw packed full of sawdust?

>>1176436
Powder != coffee grinds

>tiny little phone vibrator enough to dispense coffee

>Powder != coffee grinds
"Powder" comes in a very wide range of particle sizes based on mesh size.
>>
>>1176535
Yea guess I need to buy a stepper motor to get some torque in there.

Btw guys things went haywire and the print detached from the plate an hour into the print because I was lazy (Didnt apply glue)

Might postpone the project until I get that stepper motor.

Look into pulley sizes m8.

School project or?

>>1176550
I don't care about granular size.

Sand comes in very wide range of particles sizes based on mesh size.
>>1176941
No fuckin duh.

Good thing Coffee Grinds and Powder have the same properties.
>>
>>1176965
No. Just making an automatic coffee maker. Got the water dispensing etc down. Only trying to find a reliable way to dispense the grains.
>>
just use a fucking timer you asshole
>>
>>1177039
Timer on what..?

it's difficult to be accurate with small amounts of weight m8.

you could go for set volume. But unless your grind is the same type of coffee, same grind, etc you're going to get varying results.

coffee is also oily, and fluffy, making it a fucking nightmare to move.

>>1177053
To meem on this:
Know how much material you feed per minute. Calculate your desired amount, set the timer to stop once you reach that estimated amount.

But like I said above, too many inconsistencies with coffee.
>>
>>1176314
An alternate approach would be to make a cold brew concentrate, then dispense that with a peristaltic pump.
In addition to avoiding all the issues of handling a sticky powder, It would also simplify the process of making a batch of coffee.
>>
>>1177065
You are not going to need the kind of weight percentage accuracy you are bitching about. It would require closed loop control using a load cell.

Also, hornady reloading presses are handling propellant grains that are 25% smaller than white rice grains, not something fine like wheat flour or corn meal.
>>
>>1176436
Powder measures also work with Archimedes screw. Those are super accurate auto dispensing types.

The screw dispenses onto a scale to weigh the powder.

Coffee does suck because it's clumpy. I think you're right for the screw, just get a bigger motor or gear it for more torque.

And maybe something to stir the funnel with.
>>
>>1177347
Needs a nice stepper motor
>>
>>1177347
>dispenses onto a scale to weigh the powder.
This.
Measure onto a platform or into a cup that can trip to dump into the next step of the process.
>>
>>1177595
>beginning to think making a coffee grinder isn't an easy task

DIY a pet food dispenser instead.

probably gonna need a harmonic gearbox and absolute encoder, you should also consider a moisture analyzer because the change in weight will cause fluctuations in your metering . were talking about coffee here so your tolerances will probably be in the mg range. it may require reinventing the wheel as well
