Mine is actually all black. I was going to try a light green to make it dark green or something. I know I don't really have a lot of options with it being black.

Op, I don't care what anyone claims, you CANNOT dye synthetics

A synthetic fiber is a plastic filiment that is blown so thin it can be used for cloth. The pigment is added when the plastic/polymer is still in liquid form

This is not like traditional fiber that is porous enough to put pigment into

You can attempt to dye it but it won't work

Rit is nit what you want.

You want iDye Poly. It will dye the nylon and polyester/spandex.

Fyi to make rit due nylon you need to add 1 cup of white viniger and a small squirt of regular Dawn

It will be very hard to paint nylon.
Nylon is a polyamide, and polyamides have low surface tension and high chemical resistance.
Regular painting will not stick, because the surface tension of the ink probably won't be lower than the substrate (nylon), and it must.

Buy a specialized ink to that specific polymer, as it will come with chemicals that will etch the surface and make it able to stick.

im having similar troubles with softshell bc i left it long time in the car over the summer and now its partially "red"

I tried to dye some military clothes with spandex in it and it worked well enough. The color didn't take the matte black. Turned more grayish.
