I got one from Lowes a while back for a truck bed tent. It was 3/4 though. Could be your problem, I notice a lot of stores only carry weird shit it one or two sizes.

The last time I went to HD and Lowes they had three sided elbows, but one side was threaded. I had to special order a 5 sided pvc fitting from gardening specialist store online when I needed one for my standalone antenna.
