Any wood experts that can identify what kind of wood this shillelagh shaped stick i found in a dried riverbed in northern Oklahoma about 6 years ago is made of?
Also would it make a good shillelagh?

It kinda looks like a bone, but I'm 99% sure it's a stick.
Here's a picture of a ~900 year old human femur from my lab for reference.
As someone whose taken a plant taxonomy and plant anatomy class, I don't think OP is getting a positive ID without a fresh cut of the end, and some very detailed macro photos of this stick.
