Is there any glue in the known universe that actually bonds to polyethylene? I'm trying to make a poorfag filter for my fish tank and nothing has worked. I'm trying to attach vinyl tubing to a soda bottle, both of which have been infuriating to work with.
rtv silicone?
contact adhesive
Also the glue must not leech any harmful chemicals into the water.

What this poster said, clear RTV silicone and superglue are the best aquarium adhesives, both are totally fish safe, let the silicone cure at least 24 hours or longer.

what is hot glue ?

Use super glue then put a layer of silicone over it.

Try E6000, it sticks to pretty much any synthetic material imaginable and a quick google shows people using it on PE. You should be able to find it at a fabric/sewing store if nowhere else has it.

Super glue is too brittle and will crack apart when the plastic flexes.

Jerking off won't help op
errr... solvent welding?

Just use some sort of mechanical connection instead.

This.
A "barb" fitting, that is the one that looks like a section of tapered pipes with lots of little flares, screwed into whatever it receiving your tube, sealed into place with a tiny smear of silicone if needed, should be good for most tubing.
For others, especially a somewhat stiff material like polyethelene, you want a proper fitting, usually some form of push-in fitting. It looks like a... fitting. that you push the tube into.
More complex or premade systems might have a connection crimped into place on the end of a tube but that would be special gear.

>soda bottle
Are you sure that's polyethylene? I think soda bottles might be more likely PETE:

I'd use hot glue, cause hot glue is polyethlene itself. Or you may heat up vinil tube until it starts melting and "wield" it in place, and then secure it with hot glue or silicone.
