Hi /g/,

I have a UK virgin media hub 3.0, worked fine for 9 months until today. Started getting no connection, and the LED at the bottom is flashing green, and the wifi led is solid green. Have tried to restart and even reset multiple times, and have called support. Engineer booked for 2 days time, but I need my internet connection now. Do any anons have any suggestions as to what I can do now to fix it? Many thanks in advance.

they can remote diagnose those things, if they sending an engineer out (@ £75 call out cost or whatever), its probably fucked. And before they pay a monkey another £25 p/h to turn it upside down and look at it sideways, he'll swap that £15 POS for another POS, end of.

You can try hard reset if possible, then, disconnect everything, switch off for 10 minutes, try again - dunno from pic, but if thats a media receiver (TV etc), HD usually fails1st. Their HW is cheap crap its all a percentage game, cost versus fixing the amount of failures balanced against amount of customers who will fuck off, purely because their boxes are garbage-tier junk.

So the engineer is gonna rock up, scratch his head for 5 mins then grab another one from his van? Thanks for the info though

It got Mirai'd, it is dead and now a zombie botnet, you can't fix this

Tell Virgin to send you a new one

If everything is connected right then its a fault at the Virgin end, so fuck all you can do but get them out.

I'm with virgin media and my connection is fucking terrible, goes out for hours at a time sometimes, and its still fucked after getting an engineer out, but to his credit he did try pretty much everything to diagnose the problem, he even had some floorboards up to check the cable where it came through an exterior wall.
