What's the best way to fix bent side skirts?
mine is bent out of place a bit because my kids keep using it as a step to get into the car.
do I need to get it professionally done or should I be able to fix it myself

are they plastic? you should be able to take it off and gently straighten it with a heat gun
if they're metal maybe one of those dent repair places could help you out
Step one: drown kids

You could have prevented this, but instead you chose not to beat your children.

I'm shitting you not.
Remove them, clean them up, and put them back on with two sided tape. It is generally how they were installed in the first place.
Though make sure its real high quality tape and to clean both surfaces religiously.

Would a hair dryer work?

No.

I gurantee the clear coat will peel away before it becomes plyable

Trick to that- have to heat both sides, but its quite a pain in the bum
