I live in a country that has polymer bank notes. I want to bury a lot of them. What would be the best way to do this? I assume I don't need to protect them from moisture like I would if they were paper/cotton notes.

I suggest using gold instead of notes. Holds value much better. Other than that, it really depends on how long you want to keep them in the ground.

This!
That way I can find it much easier using a metal detector!

Put bank notes in ziploc baggie, baggie into plastic case like a tool kit. Maybe a bit of marine silicone sealant applied around lid seam?
seal in plastic
put inside section of pvc
make vinyl sticker or stencil "sewage line" on the outside

did you rob a bank?
if not invest in precious metals like gold, silver, platinum etc.

You should probably invest in precious metals if you robbed a bank also.
Hiding notes ``under your bed'' as it were, is a terrible idea because your money is sitting there, becoming more worthless as time goes on. You need to put your money in an account that grows at the rate of, or above inflation.
There is no reason to hold large sums of money in paper form outside of such an account, because paper money is worthless without banks.
Unless this money is stolen or otherwise illegal, you should just put it in a bank account or invest it.
If this money is stolen, then you're going to want to bury it in a place that isn't obvious. Disturbed soil is really easy to detect. If you decide to hide it in your house, it would also be really easy to detect using thermal cameras.

The hunger is real.

Assuming you're saving them incase of bank failure or some other serious economic collapse, you should undrstand that if banks are failing the money will start to fail right after. Especially when anyone with the Internet can switch their life savings from currency to currency fairly easy. If you just want your money to be underground, reduce the amount of air and moisture that can get to it, however you see fit.

exactly this
only immigrants keep money in the mattress or in a checking account
money should make more money
