Make a sawed off muzzleloader shotgun(barrel length doesn't matter for muzzleloaders). Test fire it remotely a few times and check for cracks before shooting it by hand. Or just make it as a non-functional prop thing for display.

look around at hardware stores for a pipe clamp set and make a nice clamp.

Attatch it to a coupling and a nipple. If its 12" or less too short that will solve your problem
