Do any of you guys know any plans for an easy to build cat tower? My cats been getting on top of our table lately and I wanted to build him something he could sit high on. But I've never built something like this before, so I wanted a simpler design.

Wrap PVC tubing in sisal rope?

Pretty mutch any bullshit u can coble together. Nail carpet to it

I've done this before, and basically what's been said is pretty true. If you want a more advanced design, what I did was get a section of concrete form tubing (basically a big, hollow, dense cardboard tube) and cut a large enough hole in it for the cat to enter, then I set up a plywood base and top platform and a rig like >>1131179
said next to the tube, and cover the plywood in carpet. As long as it isn't used in water it should last pretty long. I can send a picture tomorrow if you want one.
I made this 5' platform and scratching post about 4 years ago.
Still in good shape with daily use by several cats.
The old one lasted over 10 years. It was made with 1/4" sisal, the new one was made with 3/8" sisal.
Here is one I made for the girlfriends cats. Pvc pipe uprights wrapped in old carpet with thinner Pvc cross sections wrapped in sisal rope. Came out nice but not too cheap
and, finally...
Attached to the wall with an L bracket
I recently made one with plywood, 2x4s and carpet. One low square, an L shape above that, another platform above that, and I want to build a little house to go on the second level at some point

Don't have a pic with carpet or sisal yet.

Make sure it come out to less than $30-50. Otherwise, you can buy tall decent ones with various features.
Nailing some carpet to plywood is as enriching for cats as you can get. Don't wrap rope around posts like every cat tower you can buy as their claws can get caught in it, if you want to use rope stick it on vertically. Old carpet is better and easier though
