Hi /diy/
I got my old piano back and have lost the key
Is there a way to open this without breaking the piano?
Lock is very old. Late to 1800s early 1900s
Are piano locks unique or can any key of that same piano work? If they're universal, then see if there are any on Ebay.
Otherwise just look up a lock picking tutorial
I'd call a key smith and ask what it would cost to have one made, since you're probably gonna want to lock it up when not playing it.

Give it back Ludwig.

It looks like an old warded lock, but I'm not really knowledgeable on the older locks. Warded locks are pretty difficult to pick with conventional tools.

Make a key out of a fork.
