I'm looking to replace my girlfriend's faucet. I'm pretty positive I can handle it, but I want to double check on something.

These fittings just screw on with a bit of plumbers tape around the threads, right? I shouldn't need to use a torch and solder?

Show pic of girlfriend so we can give a definite answer.

What country is this? Not really US standard stuff...
Those almost look like oversized 3/8ths compression, and if it's compression than tape will make it leak.

That's the faucet end you are looking at. The copper lines are coming from the faucet, look at the placement of the adapters.
Another clue is that grey spring clip thing delta used to use, it's where the sprayer connects to the center.

Final clue is that the sink is on the left of the picture and wall bend at the trap is on the right.
Picture is rotated, left is up.

That's normal compression faucet supply fittings, 1/2inch.
Those are pex supplies being held on by nuts. and they have a tapered bulb at the end so they don't need anything else to seal.

OP: don't use tape, you're more likely to end up letting excess end up in the compression seal area.

Replace those pex supplies with braided flexible if the new one doesn't have it's own long supplies. The flexible supplies will have rubber cone washers built in each end so you just have to go a little over hand tight to seal them.

Yup, pic is rotated for whatever reason. Left is up, like you said.

Also, thanks for the advice on the tape and whatnot.

Compression fittings, no tape needed. Also don't over tighten or they will leak.

Just turn the water off

Go to a supply store and buy two stainless steel braided 3/8 compression by 1/2 fip supply connectors for a lavatory faucet.

You don't use PTFE thread or sealant on braided supply connectors

Faucets are held on by two nuts on the side or one nut in the center.

Loosen the nuts that hold the faucet to the bottom of the counter, loosen the supplies at the shut offs and lift the entire faucet out from above.
