I need some advice on a project I'm planning to do. I want to make a metallic trainer butterfly knife based off of the one in CS:GO (pic related) but I don't really know how to make the handles properly. Primarily I need advice on making the parts of the grip which keep the blade inside so it doesn't peek outside of the handles.

Mock it up in timber first so you can figure out the blade-handle dimensions that are a good fit, then once you're happy with that= make it out of metal

Start with a standard butterfly if you aren't familiar. Otherwise your Knuckles are going to look even more like ground beef than they would otherwise.

Anyway, easiest solution is making each handle out of 3 pieces.
