They are know to cause cancer , birth defects and reproductive hard only in the state of California so as long as you are not in California you are good.

And honestly there is not a valid reason to spend more then a few days in the peoples republic of California anyways.
>>
>>1106229
Commiefornia is stupid like that. Its a literal joke here int he states also.

Have a stainless steel anything? The chromium has been known to cause cancer so we better put a warning on it...

They'd put a warning on air if they could.

even brass fittings have that warning

The law is so vague and overreaching that companies literally put that warning on everything to protect themselves. Bottles of water, pencils, tires, paper clips. You name it. If it's sold in California, it has that warning. Typical liberal shit law. Accomplishes exactly nothing except getting more Democrats elected.
>>

Everything causes cancer in California. Even the state of California has a stamp on it that says, "This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects."

Ironic that cancer, the leading cause of cancer, doesn't require a label.

California has some bullshit law that's poorly written enough such that if a product has basically ANY quantity of ANYTHING that's ever shown the slightest possibility of being carcinogenic, it needs to have that warning to be sold in California. Given that California basically has the same population as Canada, that's a pretty huge market, so everyone just puts the warning label on stuff and doesn't worry about dealing with a California-specific supply chain. It's a joke to the other 49 states.

>>1108339
On August 26, 2005, California attorney general Bill Lockyer filed a lawsuit against four makers of french fries and potato chips – H.J. Heinz Co., Frito-Lay, Kettle Foods Inc., and Lance Inc. – to reduce the risk to consumers from consuming acrylamide. The lawsuit was settled on August 1, 2008, with the food producers agreeing to cut acrylamide levels to 275 parts per billion in three years, to avoid a Proposition 65 warning label. The companies avoided trial by agreeing to pay a combined $3 million in fines as a settlement with the California attorney general's office.

Who /eacmasterrace/ here?
>>
>>1106229
>what the fuck are you putting in your tools?
Same shit you put in yours. But the CA state government in general is pants-on-head retarded, so Prop 65 warns about even the slightest trace of any of their list of substances even if it's completely inerted or well below NOAEL thresholds. Nevermind the fact that they determine the toxicity of these substances by administering absurdly MASSIVE dosages to lab rats and then making a note of when they predictably develop tumors or birth defects.

So of course you have a situation where every manufactured product marketed in the state of CA is required to have the label regardless of the real, tangible risk posed by said product, and the warning ends up losing all meaning.

IT's not, it's totally bullshit.

Things are always being denied entry because they don't ahve proper CE certification. The last couple of christmases there have been entire containers of "hover board things" rejected from our Port because of this. And they weren't just missing a sticker
>>
Don't worry about it. Everything you buy anymore will have two stickers on it that are bullshit. Made in china and California sees it as a source of birth defects.
>>
>>1107662
>So basically a European model of government.
It might seem from across the pond like Europe is one country (like ol' Bush Jr. "Amsterdam, my favourite country") but really the word you are looking for is "French".
>>
>>1106847
Oh boy. Now there usually needs to be some sort of proof when one claims something truly ridiculous. Oh, this was the Internet, don't worry about me, just carry on!
>>
>>1107681
>It disregards the likelihood of actual contact with the ingredient.

Eating automobile batteries can cause cancer.
>>
>>1111444
>>1111445
In most countries, the US included, if you import the item on a personal basis it's completely legal, it's only illegal to import counterfeit goods to sell, or in quantities large enough to sell. "counterfeit" includes products with fake CE marks. This is because the importer is responsible for the item, not the exporter, and it is only illegal to sell fake goods, not make or own them.

So If you buy a multi-meter on eBay that claims CE but isn't, if it ships from china the seller is in the clear, and customs will clear it since it's a personal sale. Same with amazon. The internet market place would technically be responsible, but they sell so many items through so many different sellers, they have plausible deniability.
>>
>>1111537
In the UK you have to submit tools for approval or they can't be used by a tradesman in industry. How French is that?

They do have to act if it's "sold by X, delivery by Amazon", at least in some European countries.
I'm pretty sure it will get tighter for platformers in the future because this is becoming a larger deal.
>>

>>
>>1106229
EVERYTHING has that warning on it. If you go to cali, even the fast food places have a sign on the front door saying that same shit. (McDonald's did in 2014, atleast)

I've come to the conclusion that they're overly paranoid. As in: yes, the product is "harmful" if you fukin melt that shit down and eat large quantities (and inhale the fumes while you're at it). ...Not sure what to say or think about those signs I saw at the front door of all the fast food places, though.

>>1106277
pretty much this.

>>1106312
Can't tell if you're joking/trolling or if they actually passed some law for this.
>>
>>1108045
looks like something cali would do. 2bh I'm kinda surprised I don't see "this product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer" slapped on there somewhere. Maybe on the back?
