I need a replacement for pic related. It's maybe an inch long and goes in a plastic gearbox, the "process drive" for a Xerox Phaser 8560 laser printer. I bought a whole used unit on ebay, but the part is showing the exact same problem. So what would be the best way to replace it, 3d print it or what?

3d print, some shipping stores do it locally. Just have to design it first.

Could it just be replaced with a flat piece of plastic with three holes? If so, just take a strip and drill it. If not, that is if the protrusions/bumps(how do I call that?) are essential, just cut them from another strip and glue one on top of another. Or try to "machine" them. What sort of equipment do you have? This "machining" could be done with a simple dremel and file.

solvent weld it with some dichloromethane/methylene chloride

Nothing in that picture looks too difficult to recreate with plexiglass that is a similar thickness. By hand, even. Buy a metric drill bit set and a caliper. The 10 or whatever dollar one from harbor freight is actually pretty good for a year or less. Then it starts getting worn out.
You could even use aluminum to replace it with.
