Sup /diy/, I want to build a horn for my Jeep that produces a super low frequency. Anyone have experience with custom horns?
Yeah, google dozerboymiller. I think he sells his plans on ebay. You can make the pitch just like a fog horn with a bigger end bit. I made a set of train horns for my car from his plans.
Just realize for it to be super low it has to be big. Like BIG.
Here's about as small as you can get for a real fog horn sound

And one of the lower pitched ones from the guy I mentioned about.

You need a lot of air too. I run an 11 gallon tank and it'll give me about 30 second of horn until empty.

No but i am interest. 10 air horns currently installing and leaving room for 5 more. Other anon. How loud is your train horn when comparied to say. The little red plastic wolo air horns? Does it sound like the expensive ass real ones?

Shits and gigs only. I bought the red air horn kit and fucked it up. I tried to cut it down and hide it on my bike. Turns out red trumpet lives matter. RIP. So i found a few more. Then I bought this project car to dickwith and it had the sad broken horns on it. They honk like a bike horn on repeat. The red ones stay on and will replace my facoty horn. Kinda high pitched but they loud af. The 5 black ones are a dixie horn set like the general lee. And the other 5 i havent got but theu play licucaracha and just because i have room for 5 more horns.
Litteraly no sense in it. But now i gotta have a train horn.
Wooowoooooooooooo. The fuck outta my way. King of the 4 wheelers is comming through faggots.

5300 pound bag of rice.

At least as loud as a pro kit. The sound travels a good bit too. When I was first testing them in the car I accidentally scared a kit over a block away
Horn upgrades are a blessing.
I used to have a tiny little Mitsubishi coupe. It was a manual, and the combination of me living in a wet hilly area, a small car, and a shitload of 'look at my inverted dick' tier pickups, the horn I hooked up under my rear bumper was a godsend.

You must like doors.

GIVE TO ME THE PLANS. thank u anon. Just made my mutherfucking day. If u dont me asking. Whats a rough guess cost of building a single horn model? Not even sure what parts are in it. But im building 1. Might even gut a fuel cell to hide it and the compressor. What compressor u use?

>look at my inverted dick tier puckups.
My sides.
God bless you anon.
And you aint a shitting. A fucking $40 dollar wolo air horn from autozone is the reason im so autistic about this shit.
>be me
>"i hab a bike"
>"i hab an air horn"
>bikeairhorn
>made it less than 40 miles before some CUNT turns her blinker on at an instersection and tries to fucking merge into me. Bitch was legit 3 inches from hitting me. Waved my arms in panic and hit the horn. She stopped.
>getbackwhiptothewindshield.jpg.
So yeah. 100% fuck anyone without a loud ass horn.

They were dirt cheap, like $7-$10 a piece. I run just a little pancake compressor I got for $10. it takes it like ~5 minutes to fill the 11 gal tank from 0 to 110 psi. I usually just cut it on after a few honks. The most expensive part of the whole thing is the quick opening valve and the electric solenoid so I can run it from inside. The valve is for if I need to take it out to use on a tire or something.
As far as the plans I can tell you they are very simple. If you look at enough videos on youtube of PVC train horn you can figure out quickly what you need. The plans are only $10 and worth it if just for the tuning guide included in them. If they were like $20 I'd probably share them, but I feel he priced them good enough.

LOL.
>mfw shitty dixie horns are off pitch and slow af
>mfw you have to hole the button down and time it so u dont hit nots in the next playing of a 12 note song
>mfw the two cheesy high pitched red horns are loud AF!
Got number 11 coming today lads.
Probably just reokacing the smallest air horn tho. Then on to the diy train horn!

Fair enough brother. He gets my $10. Thank u kindly.

>Just realize for it to be super low it has to be big. Like BIG.
For a lower pitch, it has to be longer. The larger diameter gives you more volume (power). And takes more air.

Right on. Will make a few smaller ones and tackle a roof length one maybe.
