Hi, I don't come to /diy/ often, but I have come to a dead end and I desperately need some help.
I have a pool very similar to this and the inflatable ring at the top gets very small punctures every now and again causing it to deflate. I've tried using FlexSeal all over the ENTIRE thing, but all that did was make a mess and to be honest, that shit SUCKS and never dries properly even after a week.
So I'm thinking I can get a nice canned latex/plastic kind of paint to brush over the entire thing neatly.
The goal is to sort of fortify the plastic ring so it isn't so easy to puncture.
I've been to HomeDepot and ACE, to no avail.
I would prefer it to be blue, but it's getting desperate.
Thankyou for your time.

Tape the whole thing with duct tape like myth busters, then paint it with whatever for the color?

Thanks.
I thought about doing that as a last resort since that would take mountains of tape being properly placed. That's why I thought a nice coating of paint might be easier.

find a (commercial) tent maker in your near, get strip(s) pvc from them, glue layer of that on top, done. Pool liner (garden store) would also work, thats usually bit heavier material and (normally) only black tho. But I dont see how paint (latex, or otherwise) is gonna work, if that is ever deflated/reinflated, which it presumably is on ocassion.

You could try roof sealant (liquid rubber). Dunno if it will adhere though.

>FlexSeal
Oops nevermind, that was what flex seal was :(

This is the answer op
Stuff the rim with stiff foam. It will never deflate again.
You could try that tire goo stuff that instantly seals punctures
Pop the cats in the ass with a low power bb gun. Thats most likely the source of your holes.

This. Some oversized pool noodles, or even a geometric pattern of regular pool noodles all the way around should work just fine.
