So my bedroom is next to the Bathroom, doors are shit, walls are shit, this house is shit.
But I am stuck here, I can literally hear everything from farting to my flat mates insanely loud piss stream. I can not entertain the idea of having a female in my room, what can I do to fix this? I'm willing to get creative but my issue is i'm a broke as fuck student that is left with about £50 a week after paying for everything else and I have another two
years of this.
Please help me /diy/

>doors
seal gaps with the rubber strips from poundland
>walls
towels stick them in layers onto wall
>house
acquire bricks or heavy objects and put near shit wall to dampen transmission
>50 quid
not much you can do really
If there's a vent fan in there, replace it with a noisy one.

The door seals is a great idea thanks, walls not so much as I'm gonna have to explain why I have towels glued to my wall, I'll try the bricks and as for the £50 I am willing to save.

I don't think anyone would appreciate me doing that, thanks though. It's better than any of my ideas.

Do you really have no free time to do some temp work in the weekend? There are usually some temp bureaus specializing in matching students with shitty work. One or two weekends of shitty work can buy a lot of construction material.
Use this method :

Gypsum board = cheap. 2x4 = cheap. Caulk = cheap.
PS. definitely use draft strips/rubbers on the door. If it's a really shitty carton core door and you're allowed, screw some gypsum board to it (with caulk in between again).

I unfortunately do work as a bartender at weekends, £50 is whats left a week after I've brought food ect.
I'll take a look at the link and research costs.
Cheers pal.
If doors are mostly hollow, maybe cut hole in top, stuff some insulation down in the door. Also, if you have an attic, stuff some insulation between sheet rock layers maybe?

Weather stripping for door frame.
Foam insulation panels for walls and door.

Cheap light weight doors are usually filled with a paper honeycomb. No mass to stop sound, but not empty in a way that you can fill it.
Move all the furniture against the bathroom wall.
