Any /o/tists here that does their own stuff?
I've been toying with the idea of making my own individual throttle bodies.
Getting them custom built is going to cost an arm and a leg, plus the good ones won't fit my engine.
How hard do you guys think it will be? I'm thinking of starting out with an intake manifold bracket on which o can weld proper size steel pipe.
Each pipe having been fitted with a plenum and Throttle position sensor.
Sounds simple in my head, but I'm sure I'm missing quite some details.
Who here has done something like this and can point out some of the pitfalls and struggles you've dealt with?
Thanks.
Why not motorcycle throttle bodies?

I'll have you know, I never really thought of that... Thanks for the tip
I've been turning over the idea for a while to make a continuously variable intake for my RX-7, a-la the legendary 787B. The construction of such a thing doesn't seem all that complicated, but getting it tuned correctly would be a tricky operation.

Autobot here, my ae86 ran on bike carbs from a yamaha 600r for 1.5 years, currently running on the same carbs plugged off and made into throttle bodys with ms1/extra fuel injection. Bike carbs/theottles are pretty nifty as they can be had for pretty cheap and come with some good features that can be used in the future like cc slides, tps sensors/switches, injectors, ect. Your biggest hurdle will be designing and fabricating a manifoldto fit your application. Luckily there are two uk companies that make these. They arent cheap though.
