Build a tropical man cave. A few potted plants, some shelves of terrariums sticking out into the space at odd angles.

Drape some camo or fish netting from the ceiling to soften the angles. Use more netting as curtains to break up the tunnel effect of the room.

Put some filtered LED strip lighting in the light wells to give you more lumens at night or during winter. The terrarium lighting will help give you an indirect lighting effect, as well.

I think the thread has shown that the space is extremely awkward unless you want to make it a harem cushion tent or play lego on the floor.

In reality, it is obvious that the previous owner is just converting the space into a "living area" to lure stupids into buying it and thinking it might be usable. It is not. we asume a grown man can stand in the middle.
The height of the little walls can be worked out by using the plug sockets as a scale guide.

My opinion is that you should turn it into a relaxation area/hackerspace/storage. some short cubic bookshelves, a small desk, some beanbag chairs or low furniture, some cool lighting and shit, and you have a pretty chill hangout area. Good place to put a workshop as well, since it's an open space. A 3D printer, a mid sized assembly workbench, some tool storage, and you can use the space to make whatever the fuck you want.

Angled futon mattress on floor near far end facing stairwell. Pull down screen with projection set up for computing or movie watching. Would stick a chair and easel up there, could sit IN the window nook so you get nice light to work but still have head room. Probably use the area right up against those low walls for very low shelving (unless you have pets.) for things like AV gear, home automation equipment, maybe a heat pump, or solar air heater exchanger control area. Definitely would put things like home stereo equipment, routers, server racks (if one were to have a need.)
Might stick a telescope up there if it was possible to get a good angle through those windows at the sky, or other sights.
It would be a good place to put something like a saltwater aquarium that uses up the area where it is too low and angled to use as living space. An elaborate long hamster run would be sort of amusing. Or some sort of cat play land area.. they would probably not mind the low height.

Could turn it into a children's area if you have family or friends who have kids who need to be kept occupied while everyone gathers for family events or similar.

I have a ton of books. So I would probably figure out a way to use it as a library myself. I don't mind sitting on a low wheeled stool to fetch a book from an awkward spot. (How often do you really need to reshelf and fetch books.. not that often, a bit of gymnastics to do it is probably good for you anyhow.)

Sectioning it off into various functions that require 'storage' but not frequent access would be ideal I suppose... storage for collectables, hobbyist gear, camping stuff.. things you want access to but not out in the main living area cluttering things up.

You could start collecting some art so you could store it there, and set up a system of rotation for display down in the main area. You need a good climate controlled area to store artwork safely.
