Have you tried cutting it on yer miter saw the same way your holding it in you picture. That's how most people(trimmers) cut crown,lay the beveled edge flat against the fence like your second pick. If you want it to be tits on perfect(it's pine dough).Cut the first board to size and fit the second by starting larger than what you need and mirroring any gaps against the blade to "whittle" it down to size.
