That is a Trust Cook, OEM deadblow maker for for Matco/Snap-on/Armstrong/Estwing and a few others.

They make the vast majority of their hammers in red.
Though Trusty has made them in orange/green/yellow/blue/black depending on if it was a special run or if it was specified by a company.

Im not sure what the original purpose of making the deadblows a bright color were though

Any larger HTC grinder coupled with a half-set of PCD shoes. One minute there's a 7mm body of hella-tough al-ox and epoxy on the floor, next there's clean concrete :)
I don't personally own any of the HTC or greyline, I opted for Husqvarna due to cost. I do love the opportunities when I get to run them however.
>>
I'm kind of fond of my torque wrench.
That happy 'tink' sound of something done up just right
>>

I'd never used one to any real capacity other than cleaning a sharp edge but I'd say that I love the sound of hand planers and hand saws.

Reminds me of the days when I spent all day on the beach. There was always a group of guys building old style seine fishing boats.

>>1022015

Loppers are fantastic. Especially when you been struggling with a hand pruner and you remember you got loppers and when you grab it, it is like cutting warm butter with a hot knife.
>>
My Metabo 6" angle grinder running 6" cutting discs (also takes 4 1/2" wheels).

It's the size of a 4 1/2" grinder with the balls and wheel guard capacity of larger grinders.

I've cut 3/8" steel plate and taken a nice pie wedge cut on a 14-bolt Chevy brake drum I use as a weight for my freestanding monitor base.

Find someone with one that is already setup so you know how it should feel being used

Yea finding an old one is best, the new ones aren't too bad but going from an old one with 2 control knobs to a new one with 1 dual control is where they get the most grief

Once setup they work the same if you maintain them the same they will last the same amount of time, no reason to go and get a lee nelson plane or anything, that like audiophile level aspie shit, you might still want to pick up a nice new iron for an old plane probably get an a2 steel one they hold their edge nice enough for most jobs

And for sharpening don't go past 1200-1500 grit, you can get a mirror finish with a strop and rubbing compound

They're nice, especially for professional work. Lots of torque and quiet operation. The vent air can carry a couple pounds of the tool's weight if you direct it down, or it can deflect sparks away from where they'd normally go if you want that instead. This also provides local ventilation, and the air expansion cools the tool, which is usually nice for comfort. We use several types of angle grinder, most commonly a ~80 CFM version fitted with a flat disk sander or 3.5" expansion wheel. Pic related is usually used with a 9" cutting wheel for larger cutting tasks where a plasma cutter isn't suitable. There are also some smaller grinders used for lighter polishing and finishing that still use way more air than a consumer-grade compressor can deliver.
>>
>>1025473
Interesting, We have 4 normal angle grinders for different purposes,
I guess this would make up for at least 3 of them.
125cfm is around 3 point something m3/min, right?
If so, we could power one up with our sand blasting compressor.
Thanks for the info mate :D

Or just don't wear gloves and grow natural gloves for your hands like a man
>>
>>1025485
About 3.5 cubic meters / minute. That's at full load, though. Actual use will see a lower average. I'd be reluctant to replace grinders at less than 1:1 because it's nice (and productive) to keep multiple grinders set up with whatever abrasives you'll be using rather than switching all the time. And different tasks often take different RPMs. While a lot of air grinders can be throttled manually, it's best to get a grinder that matches the needs of the abrasive.
