hey guys, I have a problem with my shingle, pic related, anyways,

Throw a tarp over it until you can get a good dry day or 2 (maybe more if you're working alone and it's a large roof).

How steep is the roof? If it's very steep get some roof jacks.

Shingling is pretty easy actually. There is a reason it is the lowest paid trade. One of the few jobs you can get without a high school education and most places don't make you take a drug test.

can you get a bigger picture so we can see more around it? looks like wind damage to me

if it's just a single shingle i'd just tar the thing and call it a day.

yeah, it was just that one shingle, all the other ones are in pretty much mint condition, actually, I'll get a bigger pic if the thread is still alive tomorrow

i'm thinking tar would work fine but really need to see the area around that shingle.

generally replacing a single shingle is a bitch due to how they are layered so it's pretty hard to do without the risk of causing an even bigger leak

Tar it mate you can get this stuff called blackjack here in the UK. It works really well.
