Reposting my story since it was at the tail end of the last thread:

So this RL experience might not be for some people, but it was incredible for me. Asked my fiance after giving her great head out of nowhere a day before, and doing most of the housework, if she could do something for me in return the upcoming weekend. (This was last week)

So, we had a lot of discussion last thread.

Basic control of Onachan is thus:

*Her farts and burps are based off two attributes- Noise and Stench (or physical and magical). Farts normally do immediate noise damage and dot stench, dot fire if lit, or dot acid once she gets the 666 alarm chili. Burps become available once she finds the Cocytus Cola.

Burps do noise and cold damage. Enemies that are made of fire are immune to fart gas, so burps are the only way to defeat them. Frozen enemies take more damage from the butt bash and noise factor of farts and burps.

Originally I had the idea that a player could, over time, fog up a room with repeated farts, but that seems like asking for cheap strategies where Onachan just gets into a safe corner, farts a lot, and waits for everything to die from the stench.

I'm thinking "clouds" of gas that do the stench/acid damage over time would be more appropriate.

Of course, there will be a wall turkey, hidden far in the bowels of the castle, which will increase all her attributes, especially the noise, stench, and rumble (gas regeneration) of Onachan. The item's description:
"Was hidden in a wall for 400 years.
What the hell were you thinking?"

Programmer here. You're best bet is to learn coding yourself. Good games take a LONG time to make, and no normal programmer would spend such a long time on a game they can't take credit for (well... not without committing social suicide).
I can tell you this, there are only a few way this game can happen:


1. You learn to code

2. The game is very small (a tiny time commitment)

3. You find a team consisting entirely of cringe-worthy weirdos (who consider this to be worth months of full-time work, AT LEAST)

4. Your game gets magically picked up by a Japanese company who makes weird fetish games (Like "GunGun Pixies")

$. A lot of Money (Or: "how your team learned to stop worrying and love the farts")

Trust me on this, I started to do some work for Gats (of Towergirls fame). I was just coding a simple tool to help him with art, but I just couldn't go on. The project quickly became more trouble than I signed on for, personal issues, had to visit my family for the holidays, etc. That's why I didn't offer to help you on this.

Entry level salary for a programmer is ~$65,000 a year (USD, obviously).
That translates to roughly ~$5,000 a month.

Assuming they give you an 80% discount via the kindness of their heart (and the hardness of their dick) You're still looking at ~$1,000 a month.

And that's just for a programmer. Metroidvania games require a decent enemy variety and various unique environments (or the game gets stale really fast).
So the biggest pinch point for a metroidvania is artists.

But hey, let's take a real-life example. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow(GBA) was made with 1 programmer and 1 artist. seems do-able but...

Ultra-conservative estimate: ~$1,750 a month.
There are 72 posters here as of right now, but let's round that up to 100.
Aria of Sorrow was announced January, released May. So the minimum development time was 4 months.
$1,750 * 4 months = $7,000
$7,000/ 100 Posters = $70 each

You'd be charging more than a triple-A game. That's also without a composer and a writer, so you'd be stuck with stock music and write-fag level story. (They say anyone can write, that's a lie.)

So even if everyone here (+28 other people) paid $70, you're basically guaranteed shit quality. Not to mention the fact that you're practically running off slave labor.
